About Us - History
(a) The concept of establishing Army Goodwill Schools in J & K was mooted with a view to provide educational facilities to students, comparable to the best in the country. Army Goodwill School, Wuzur was constructed in the yr 1998 under the aegis of HQ Victor Force to provide opportunity and facilities for providing quality education, particularly to the children from poor financial background and terrorism affected areas.
(b) Army Goodwill School, Wuzur started its journey with two teachers and 40 students with a vision towards grooming the students of the region into responsible citizens capable of contributing positively to the society. Over a period of time with constant monitoring and yearly allocation of budgetary support, the school has attained the status of “Centre of Excellence” for education and personality development for over 600 students of the region provided with trained faculty and good infrastructure.
(c) The Army Goodwill School hold the singular honor of being the only AGS providing education upto 12th Standard. Affiliation with J&K Battalion NCC, Srinagar too has gone a mile further in giving a boost to the boys and girls of the school in terms of exposure, self confidence and opening avenues for job opportunities. For the exemplary standards set by the school and in recognition of the hardwork put-in by the students, staff and the school management committee the Army Goodwill School, Wuzur was aptly awarded the “Maj Purushottam Memorial Trophy” on 19 Aug 2015 by Lt Gen Subratha Saha, YSM, VSM**, then GOC Chinar Corps for being adjudged as the best AGS in 15 Corps.
